We went here for Shrek trivia and it was a really cool movie theater and bar. Worth checking out if you haven't been.

🎧 Dead of Night with DJ James Kennedy - Clarendon Ballroom (Clarendon) @ 9pm-1:30am The Vanderpump Rules DJ takes over all three floors of the Ballroom to kick off Halloween weekend with house and party anthems, a haunted photo booth and more than $2,000 in costume contest prizes. $15

🦇 WeFunk Haunted Baile Funk - Darna (Clarendon) @ 10pm WeFunk decks out all of Darna for a Brazilian baile funk Halloween party that runs until 2am. $31

🗝️ Halloween Lock & Key Singles Party - Astro Beer Hall (Shirlington) @ 6:30-8:30pm Singles ages 30 to 54 are encouraged to come in costume, and the idea is simple: women get locks, men get keys, and you win prize tickets every time you find the match for yours. $27

🐍 Spooky Serpents - Potomac Overlook Regional Park (North Arlington) @ 7-8pm A naturalist gives you an up-close look at the nature center's snakes and then feeds them some mice. It's $7 for anyone 7 and up, and everyone has to register ahead, with sign-ups closing on Thursday. $7

⛸️ Thriller Night opening skate - Westpost Ice Rink (Pentagon City) @ 5-8pm The Westpost Ice Skating Rink opens on Friday with Thriller on Ice, a Halloween skate under the lights set to spooky tunes, and it runs again on Saturday from 5 to 8. Costumes are encouraged. $11

🏀 Wizards vs. Hornets - Capital One Arena (DC) @ 7pm The Wizards host the Hornets in an NBA Cup group game, and it should be AJ Dybantsa's home debut after the No. 1 pick made his NBA debut Wednesday in Cleveland. Info

🪔 BOLLYWEEN Bollywood Halloween party - Quinn's on the Corner (Rosslyn) @ 10pm-2am Vibe Districts brings Bollywood favorites, Punjabi hits and desi party vibes to Quinn's for a Halloween night with a Bollywood twist. Eventbrite lists tickets as free, and it's 21+ with a photo ID. FREE

🍺 Nightmare on Wilson bar crawl - Clarendon Ballroom and BOE (Clarendon) - from 5pm We flagged this crawl back in 2024, and it's back. Check in at Clarendon Ballroom or BOE, then work your way through Hyde Social and Mister Days with $4 beers and costume contests along the way. $7

🐶 Doggie Trick-or-Treat - Dogma Bakery (Shirlington) @ 3-5pm Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Dogma Bakery take costumed dogs around the Shirlington shops for homemade treats and a costume contest. It's a $30 suggested donation for the first dog, and it all goes to the rescue. If you'd rather start earlier and pay nothing, the library is throwing a free Howl-O-Ween pet party on Courthouse Plaza from 11 to 1. $30 · Howl-O-Ween

🧙 Hocus Pocus Trivia - Astro Beer Hall's 1969 Bar (Shirlington) @ 6pm The winner takes home a $50 gift card, and Astro's Hocus Pocus Halloween party starts right after at 8. It's 21+. FREE

🌮 Tacos & mezcal tasting - La Michoacana at Upside on Moore (Rosslyn) @ 5:30-6:30pm The owner of La Michoacana is hosting a $30 Day of the Dead tasting with four blue corn tacos (aguachile, fish, cochinita pibil and lamb barbacoa) and a surprise dessert. Mezcal cocktails are extra, and you'll need a reservation. $30

💃 Baila Habibi Halloween - Darna (Clarendon) @ 9pm The Baila Habibi party sold out Darna in August, and it's back for Halloween with a $1,000 costume contest. Tickets are already mostly gone, so buy ahead. $29
