Happy Wednesday Bagel Bites,
Back for another week, but a little earlier than usual because New Yearβs Eve is right around the corner. Weβve rounded up a few easy ways to get out this week, including a low-key New Yearβs Eve option at Makers Union and Thursday night trivia if you want something casual. On the food front, Burger Billyβs Joint, Daydrift, and AprΓ¨s Springs are giving us plenty of reasons to stay warm, eat well, and start the new year on a good note.
Scroll on to plan your weekend right.

π Your Weekend in Arlington
Wednesday
π₯ New Yearβs Eve at Makers Union (National Landing)
If youβre keeping New Yearβs Eve on the cozy side, Makers Union is a solid pick. The National Landing gastropub will be serving dinner and cocktails throughout the evening, making it easy to celebrate without committing to a big ticketed party. Come for a relaxed meal, stay for a drink or two, and toast to the new year in a space that feels festive but not chaotic. Info HERE
π₯ New Yearβs Eve Bar Crawl in Washington, D.C.
This oneβs for the truly committed. The New Yearβs Eve Bar Crawl is happening in D.C., which means a longer trip, crowds and a late Metro ride home. If youβre up for a big night with multiple bar stops, DJs and a high-energy scene, it could be your thing. But fair warning: this is very much a βmake a whole night of itβ plan, not a quick pop-out-and-back Arlington situation. Info HERE
Thursday
π§ Thursday Trivia Night at Hops N Shine (Thursdays, 6:30 PM)
If youβre looking for an easy, low-stakes Thursday night plan, trivia at Hops N Shine is a solid go-to. Grab a drink, pull together a team and test your random knowledge in a laid-back, neighborhood setting. Itβs casual, social and perfect for weeks when you just want to get out of the house without overcommitting. FREE
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Nothing official on the Arlington event calendar this weekend, and honestly⦠we get it. Consider this your permission slip to sleep in, skip the crowds, and check out some of the restaurant news instead. Cozy weekend energy only.

βοΈ AprΓ¨s Springs at Balian Springs (Dec. 1 to Jan. 31)
Balian Springs is leaning all the way into winter with Après Springs, a ski lodge inspired pop-up taking over the entire spa through the end of January. The massive spa space is decked out with cozy seasonal touches, and you can rotate between saunas, pools and treatments before settling in with a winter sangria or spiked hot cocoa. It is indulgent, a little over the top in the best way and perfect if your idea of winter plans involves warmth and a drink in hand. Find it at 6432 General Green Way in Alexandria.
π Burger Billyβs Joint β Cherrydale
Burger Billyβs is serving up big, unapologetic comfort food, and the brisket burger is the star of the show. Load it up with their bourbon BBQ sauce and house-made Cajun fries and call it a day. Fun fact that makes it even better: Chef Keshuan previously cooked for President Obama, which somehow feels very fitting for a place doing classic American food this well. Find it at 3800 Langston Blvd. and come hungry.
β Daydrift
Daydrift is a cool, design-forward spot built for slow mornings and intentional breaks. The focus is on really good coffee, thoughtful details and a calm, airy space that feels more like a reset than a quick caffeine stop. Itβs the kind of place you go when you want to linger, journal, catch up with a friend or just sit quietly with a great cup in hand. Definitely one to bookmark for your regular rotation. Info HERE
