Happy Thursday from Alanna Schloss’s dog!

Happy Thursday Bagel Bites,

If your week’s been giving “work, couch, repeat,” consider this your interruption. Thursday kicks off with Bar Bao trivia (aka the easiest groupchat win), then we’ve got a nail art social for anyone who likes their social plans with a side of self-care. The weekend is also chocolate-heavy in the best way—Fairfax’s Chocolate Lovers Festival is back for three days, and Kingsbury is doing a Valentine’s pop-up that will absolutely convince you to buy “just one more” box. Oh, and because Arlington loves a theme: there’s a Super Bowl watch party option if your Sunday needs a plan.

Scroll on to plan your weekend right.

📅 Your Weekend in Arlington

Thursday

🥟 District Trivia Night (Bar Bao – Clarendon) — Thu., Feb. 5 (7:00 PM)
Your easiest “we should do something this week” plan: roll into Bar Bao for District Trivia (it’s a big crowd, so showing up a little early is the move), post up with a cocktail, and let the most competitive friend in your group become temporarily unbearable. Bonus: you can make it a full night by starting with happy hour beforehand (Mon–Fri, 3–7 PM) and then sliding straight into game time. Info HERE

Friday

💅 Mani CURATED Valentine’s Nail Art Social at MoCA Arlington Innovation Studio and Store (Feb. 6, 6:30 PM to 9 PM)
This is self-care with a creative twist. Mani CURATED is a relaxed nail art hangout where you can decorate your nails with pens, stickers, rhinestones, and all the tools you need, whether your vibe is soft, goth, sparkly, minimal, or full maximalist. Come with your nails prepped and a base coat on, then drop in anytime, hang out with friends, and leave with a set you’ll be showing off all weekend. There will be sparkling sodas and ciders, music, and plenty of hype to go around. $29.58

🍫 34th Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival (Old Town Fairfax) — Feb. 6–8 (3 days!)
This one’s a full three-day chocolate takeover in Old Town Fairfax: Friday night (5–8 PM) to kick it off, all day Saturday (10 AM–4 PM), and a Sunday finale (12–4 PM). Expect chocolate treats, vendors, and family-friendly stuff happening across town—plus a location shuffle this year: the Taste of Chocolate portion is at the Sherwood Community Center (construction at Old Town Hall). Bonus: there’s a “Chocolate Express” to help you bounce between festival spots without playing parking roulette. FREE

Saturday

🍫 Kingsbury Chocolates Valentine’s Day Pop Up at One More Page Books (Feb. 7, 11 AM to 2:30 PM)
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, One More Page is hosting a pop up from Kingsbury Chocolates, aka a very easy way to knock out gifting and treat yourself at the same time. Swing by to grab beautiful, fan-favorite chocolates that feel thoughtful without you having to overthink it. Perfect for bringing home to someone you love, showing up to brunch with a little something, or keeping entirely for yourself. FREE RSVP

Sunday

🏈 Super Bowl Watch Party (Clarendon Ballroom) — Sun., Feb. 8 (5:00–11:00 PM)
If you’re trying to watch the game somewhere that feels less “tiny TV in the corner” and more full sensory experience, Clarendon Ballroom is going big: a 50-foot projector wall, a 20-foot video wall, and game-day audio/commentary on their sound system. Doors open at 5 PM and it’s free entry, but the move is showing up early—there’s a $29.99 bottomless Super Bowl buffet, plus drink specials + giveaways (specials run until 6:30 PM, with things like $5 shooters / $6 rails / $25 pitchers / $25 domestic buckets until 6 PM). 🍽️ Restaurant News

🐟 New(ish) Spot: Fish Taco (Falls Church) — Opened late Dec. (around Dec. 22)
Yes, we’re a little late to this one—but Fish Taco is worth the catch-up. The name is accurate and misleading: you can do beer-battered, blackened, or grilled fish tacos, but also go non-seafood with steak, chicken, or veggie options. The menu’s bigger than just tacos too—think bowls, burritos, quesadillas, and starters like ceviche. Top it off with a frozen or on-the-rocks marg, and call it your new “casual but fun” weeknight plan. 930 W. Broad St., Falls Church. Info HERE

🥘 Paella Dinner (The Portofino) — Sat., Feb. 7 (6:30–10:00 PM)
If you want a weekend dinner plan that feels actually special (and not just “we got apps again”), The Portofino is doing a full-on live paella demonstration with Jesús Alberto Rodriguez of La Vache Blanche—plus a multi-course Spanish menu that ends with churros + chocolate. Tickets are $90 (tax + gratuity included), and there’s an optional wine pairing for $39 if you’re leaning into the theme.

🍽️ Restaurant Week Got a Snow-Day Extension — Now through Feb. 8
If you missed your chance to snag those prix-fixe menus, you’re in luck: the snow messed with schedules, so RAMW Winter Restaurant Week is running a few extra days—through Feb. 8. Falls Church Restaurant Week is also extended through Feb. 8, which means you’ve basically been handed a bonus weekend to book a table, try somewhere new, and call it “being intentional.” Info HERE
