Happy Thursday Bagel Bites,
This week’s theme is “low effort, high payoff.” Thursday is Rosslyn Cinema (free outdoor movie energy, blanket required), Friday is free mini tote painting if you want a wholesome craft night, and Saturday is basically spring cleaning… but fun: a community yard sale and a free clothing swap where you can leave with a new wardrobe and zero guilt. Sunday gets a little fancy with a jazz paint-and-sip at Water Park (yes it’s $40, but yes it’s a vibe). Restaurant news is also stacked: Westover just got a women’s sports bar reboot, Clarendon has a new rooftop concept coming soon, and local spots are showing out as RAMMY finalists.
Scroll on to plan your weekend right.

📅 Your Weekend in Arlington
Thursday
🎬🌙 Rosslyn Cinema (NOW Pop-Up Park) — Thu., Apr. 23 (6:00–10:00 PM)
Rosslyn’s outdoor movie series is back, and this week’s pick is You’ve Got Mail—the perfect “blanket + snacks + casual date night” energy. Doors/open park time is 6–10 PM, and showtime starts around sunset (~7:30 PM). They’re also leaning into the theme with a book truck and 90s-style postcard writing, plus onsite snacks (and a discounted Ravenna Pizza two-slice meal deal if you show your Eventbrite ticket). NOW Pop-Up Park, 1401 Wilson Blvd.
Friday
🎨👜 Analog Night: Mini Tote Bag Painting (MoCA Arlington Innovation Studio + Store) — Fri., Apr. 24 (6:00–8:00 PM)
A very cute, low-pressure Friday plan: MoCA’s Analog Night is a tech-free, drop-in crafting hang where you paint your own mini tote bag using provided supplies (paint colors, stencils, brushes—the whole setup). Come anytime between 6–8 PM, make something you’ll actually use, and enjoy the rare joy of being social without staring at a screen. Free admission. 525 14th St. S., Arlington.
Saturday
🛍️🌷 Spring Community Yard Sale (Barcroft Apartments) — Sat., Apr. 25 (9:30 AM–12:30 PM)
If you love a good “I’m just browsing” situation that turns into leaving with a lamp and three sweaters, this one’s for you. Barcroft Apartments is hosting a community yard sale with local residents/vendors—perfect for low-stakes treasure hunting on a spring morning. Parking is available behind the leasing office or street parking in front of the community room. 1120 S. George Mason Dr. Info HERE
👗♻️ The 12th Semi-Annual Fairlington Free Clothing Swap (Abingdon Elementary Parking Lot) — Sat., Apr. 25 (12:00–3:00 PM)
Spring closet clean-out season is here, and this is the most satisfying way to do it: drop off clean, good-quality clothing, shoes, and accessories in the morning, then come back and shop for free in the afternoon. You don’t have to donate to shop (everyone’s welcome), but if you do, donations are accepted 7:00–11:00 AM before the swap opens. Anything left over gets donated to local charities—so it’s a little retail therapy with a conscience. 3035 S. Abingdon St.
Sunday
🎷🎨 The Jazz Palette: Paint & Sip (Water Park – National Landing) — Sun. (5:30–7:30 PM) — $40
Yes, it’s $40, but it’s also a whole vibe: an evening paint-and-sip set to live jazz at Water Park. Think “date night” energy without needing a full dinner reservation—just show up, paint something you’ll pretend you’re framing, and let the music do the heavy lifting. Perfect if you want a Sunday plan that feels a little elevated (and gets you out of your apartment before Monday hits).
🍽️ Restaurant News
🏆🌮 Westover Taco Reopens as a Women’s Sports Bar — Opened Apr. 16
Westover Taco just got a second life—and a fun new identity: it’s now the area’s first women’s sports bar, opened by new owner Sarah White (with athletes from local women’s teams there for opening day). The menu’s built for watching a game: near-daily specials (including $3 regular tacos on Tuesdays), plus tacos like birria and a Surf & Turf with carne asada + shrimp. Cocktail list is also leaning into the theme—think the Rise and Grind Mocha (coffee + cold brew moonshine + Kahlúa chocolate) or a Spicy Piña-Rita with pineapple and local agave spirits. 5849 Washington Blvd., Arlington (Westover).
