Back for another week. Holiday energy is officially everywhere, from Light Up Clarendon to the Winter Artful Weekend at Hendry House. The Water Park Neighborhood Holiday Market, the German Christmas Market and the Columbia Pike Farmers Market give you plenty of places to shop small and soak up the season. Astro Doughnuts is hosting a Christmas mini donut decorating day, and the restaurant scene is leaning in too with Santa’s Honky Tonk Boe at Celtic House, the Bayou Bakery Christmas Corner Holiday Market and the Colada Shop Holiday Bar. It is a full, festive weekend with something fun on every block.

More than 40 Arlington artists will be showing paintings, pottery, jewelry and other handmade pieces, so it is an easy place to find a gift or just wander around a beautiful historic house filled with local art. Bayou Bakery is giving the holidays a New Orleans twist this year. Chef David Guas is rolling out the Kiddie Creole Kringle Crunch Cake, a praline-iced Danish-style cake that feeds eight to ten people and looks like instant holiday hero material. You can also pick up a trio of pralines in traditional, cafe au lait and chocolate flavors, sugar-dusted crack cookies and peppermint bark. Colada Shop’s Holiday Bar is back in Clarendon, serving Cuban-inspired seasonal cocktails all month long. Stop in for the Candy Cane Colada, the MoHoHojito or the Apple Guava Mule, each one festive without being too sweet and perfect for a winter night out.
